Craps Payout Calculator

Calculate standard and crapless craps payouts for line bets, odds, place, buy, lay, field, hardways and common proposition bets.

Calculate winning craps payouts, profit and total return for standard craps, odds bets, place/buy/lay bets, proposition bets and common crapless-craps rules.

Payouts shown are planning math for a winning wager. Casino minimums, chip rounding, Field rules, buy/lay commission timing and crapless paytables can differ. Always use the payoff schedule posted at the table.

Use this craps payout calculator to estimate the profit and total money returned when a selected craps wager wins. It covers standard line bets, free odds, Place, Buy, Lay, Field, hardway and common proposition bets, plus a separate crapless-craps mode for the extra 2, 3, 11 and 12 points.

How to calculate a craps payout

Select the game, bet type and amount. If the wager depends on a number, choose the point or winning roll. The calculator shows the posted payout ratio, gross win, any modeled commission, net profit and total return. For Buy and Lay bets, you can change the commission percentage and whether the vig is charged only on a win or collected upfront.

The core calculation is:

Winning profit = wager × payout numerator ÷ payout denominator

When a commission applies, net profit subtracts that vig. If the vig is collected upfront, the calculator separately accounts for the higher cash outlay and the full winning settlement returned by the table.

For example, a $30 Place 6 at 7:6 produces $35 of profit and returns $65 when the original $30 wager is included. A $20 odds bet on a point of 4 at 2:1 produces $40 of profit and returns $60.

Standard craps payout table

Bet Number Common payout
Pass / Come Winning resolved bet 1:1
Pass / Come odds 4 or 10 2:1
Pass / Come odds 5 or 9 3:2
Pass / Come odds 6 or 8 6:5
Place 4 or 10 9:5
Place 5 or 9 7:5
Place 6 or 8 7:6
Hardway 4 or 10 7:1
Hardway 6 or 8 9:1
Any 7 7 4:1
Any Craps 2, 3 or 12 7:1
Single 2 or 12 2 or 12 30:1
Single 3 or 11 3 or 11 15:1

These are common U.S. base-game payouts and are consistent with standard reference tables from Wizard of Odds and major craps guides. A casino can still set its own minimums, maximums, Field doubles/triples, commission procedures and chip-rounding practices.

Craps odds payout calculator

Free-odds wagers behind Pass/Come bets pay the true dice odds and therefore have no built-in house edge on the odds portion itself. The usual ratios are 2:1 on 4 or 10, 3:2 on 5 or 9, and 6:5 on 6 or 8. Don’t Pass/Don’t Come lay odds reverse those ratios: 1:2, 2:3 and 5:6.

The calculator keeps line bets and odds wagers separate because a combined Pass Line plus odds bet contains two different payout components. If you want to check the odds portion, enter only the amount placed as odds.

Place, Buy and Lay bet payouts

Place bets use fixed casino payouts rather than the exact mathematical odds. The 6 and 8 normally pay 7:6, the 5 and 9 pay 7:5, and the 4 and 10 pay 9:5. That is why experienced players often use convenient betting units such as multiples of $6 on Place 6/8 and multiples of $5 on Place 4/5/9/10.

Buy bets normally pay true odds before a commission. This calculator models the common 5% vig but lets you change it because tables differ. For a Buy bet, the commission is modeled from the wager amount. For a Lay bet, it is modeled from the amount you stand to win. The result reports net profit after the selected commission.

Field, hardway and proposition payouts

Field rules are not identical at every table. Many tables pay even money on 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11, double on 2, and either double or triple on 12. Choose the matching Field paytable before calculating. Hard 4/10 commonly pays 7:1 and Hard 6/8 pays 9:1.

A Horn wager is four separate one-roll bets split equally across 2, 3, 11 and 12. The calculator therefore treats one quarter of the entered Horn amount as the winning unit and subtracts the other three losing units when it reports net profit.

Crapless craps payout calculator

Crapless craps changes the come-out rules so 2, 3, 11 and 12 can become points instead of immediately resolving like they do in standard craps. True odds on 2 and 12 pay 6:1, while true odds on 3 and 11 pay 3:1. The ordinary 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 retain their familiar true-odds payouts.

The extra-number Place payouts are the part most likely to vary by approved paytable. Wizard of Odds documents a common modern structure of 11:2 on 2/12 and 11:4 on 3/11. Nevada Gaming Control Board rules also show an approved Crapless Craps version using 5:1 on 2/12 and 13:5 on 3/11. Because both structures exist in published material, the calculator lets you select the paytable instead of pretending there is one universal crapless payout.

Crapless craps does not normally include Don’t Pass or Don’t Come, so those options are removed when the calculator is switched to crapless mode.

Free craps payout calculator vs. an actual casino payoff

This is a free craps payout calculator for checking the math before or after play. It is not a casino settlement system. Real tables pay in chips, may round commissions to particular chip denominations, may require certain betting multiples, and may collect a Buy/Lay vig differently. Nevada regulations require payoff schedules to be available to players, so the table’s posted schedule is the final authority for the wager you are actually making.

The craps calculator payout result is intended to make that distinction visible: the ratio describes the winning profit rule, while the result cards separately show profit and total return.

Worked payout examples

$30 Place 6

At 7:6, the profit is $30 × 7 ÷ 6 = $35. The total returned on a win is $65.

$20 odds bet on point 5

At 3:2, the profit is $30 and the total returned is $50.

$20 Buy 4 with a 5% commission charged on the win

True odds produce $40 gross profit. A 5% commission on the $20 wager is $1, so modeled net profit is $39 and total return is $59.

$20 crapless Place 2 using 11:2

The winning profit is $20 × 11 ÷ 2 = $110, for a $130 total return.

Frequently asked questions

Does a craps payout include my original bet?

Casino payout ratios normally describe profit. This calculator shows both net profit and total return, where total return includes the portion of the original winning wager that comes back to you.

Why does the calculator show a betting-unit hint?

Some payout ratios create fractions unless the wager uses a convenient multiple. The hint helps you recognize common units, but it does not replace the table minimum or dealer instructions.

Is this a craps table payout calculator?

Yes. It covers the most common base-table wagers and lets you adjust rules that frequently vary, including Field payouts, buy/lay commission timing and two published crapless Place paytables.

Can I use it as a crapless craps payout calculator?

Yes. Switch the game to Crapless Craps to enable points 2, 3, 11 and 12 for odds, Place and Buy calculations.

Does the calculator guarantee what a casino will pay?

No. It calculates from the selected payout rules. The casino’s posted payoff schedule, table minimums, commission method and chip-rounding rules control the actual settlement.

Methodology and sources

Standard payout ratios and house-edge references are cross-checked against Wizard of Odds and current U.S. craps payout guides. Crapless rules and extra-point odds are cross-checked against Wizard of Odds and the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s approved Crapless Craps rules. The Nevada rules also demonstrate why a crapless Place payout should be selectable rather than hardcoded as universal. Current first-page craps calculators were reviewed for search intent, especially their coverage of payout, profit, total return, odds, house edge and common bet types.
