Evony Troop Calculator

Calculate Evony troop cost, power and training time, or plan T1–T17 troop layers for a march with resource and power totals.

Estimate Evony troop resource cost and power, plan training time, or build a transparent layered march from T1 through T17.

Reference troop costs can change after game updates. Check your current Evony training screen before committing a large resource batch. Layering mode plans composition; it does not simulate combat or promise a PvP outcome.

The built-in T1–T17 reference table estimates Food, Wood, Stone, Ore, Gold and troop power. Verify values in-game if your server/client shows different costs.

Use this Evony troop calculator to plan the resources and power for a troop batch, estimate troop training time, or build a layered march that fits your available march capacity. The calculator covers Ground, Ranged, Mounted and Siege troops from T1 through T17 and keeps troop-cost planning separate from PvP strategy so the math stays transparent.

Calculate Evony troop cost and power

The troop cost mode works like an Evony troop cost calculator and Evony troop power calculator in one. Choose a troop type, select the tier and enter the quantity you plan to train. The result multiplies the current reference cost per troop by your quantity and reports Food, Wood, Stone, Ore, Gold and total troop power.

Total resource = resource cost per troop × troop quantity

Total troop power = power per troop × troop quantity

The built-in reference table is based on current public Evony community data and includes T17, which is missing from a number of older calculators. Evony can change troop values in updates, so the number shown inside your current training building should always win if it differs from a public table.

Why troop type changes the resource mix

Different troop types lean on different resources. Mounted troops use Food and Wood with increasing Ore at higher tiers. Ranged troops are Wood-heavy, Ground troops become heavily Food-based, and Siege troops depend strongly on Stone and other construction resources. The resource pattern becomes much more expensive at upper tiers, which is why planning a large T14–T17 batch before a consuming event can prevent an expensive partial build.

Evony troop layering calculator

The layering mode is a capacity planner for players who already know their available march size. Enter that capacity, choose the main troop type and highest tier, then set the number of troops you want in each automatic layer. The calculator fills the selected layer slots and assigns the remaining march capacity to the highest-tier main stack.

Layer troops = number of layer slots × troops per layer

Main stack = total march size − layer troops

For example, a 1,500,000 march using T15 Ranged as the main troop and 1,000 troops in every four-type layer uses 56 automatic lower-tier layer slots when T1 through T14 are represented across all four troop types. That consumes 56,000 troops and leaves 1,444,000 T15 Ranged troops in the main stack.

What does “all four troop types” mean?

With all-four layering selected, each tier receives Ground, Mounted, Ranged and Siege layer slots, except the highest-tier slot that becomes your main stack. You can also exclude Siege from the automatic layers or create layers only in your selected main troop type. This is a planning framework, not a claim that one composition is universally best.

Evony strategy sources and player communities commonly discuss 1,000-troop lower layers, but actual PvP compositions vary widely by troop type, buffs, opponent, battle objective and account development. Some ranged or ground marches also distribute the working force across several upper tiers rather than placing the entire remainder in one tier. Use the generated march as a clean baseline, then adapt it to your own battle reports and alliance strategy.

Layer cost and power

Unlike a basic Evony troop layering calculator that only outputs counts, this tool also totals the reference resources and troop power represented by the generated march. That makes it easier to compare a march idea with the troops you still need to train.

The training-time mode answers a different question: how long a batch will take. If you know the base time per troop and your total training speed bonus, the calculator applies the standard planning relationship below:

Effective time per troop = base time per troop ÷ (1 + training speed bonus ÷ 100)

Total training time = effective time per troop × troop quantity

If the time you copied from your current Evony training screen already includes your research, duty officer and active buffs, select the already-adjusted option. The calculator will multiply that displayed time directly and will not apply your training speed a second time.

Evony troop reference tiers

Tier Reference power per troop What changes
T1–T5 2.00–6.64 Low resource cost and low power per unit
T6–T10 8.97–29.79 Resource requirements accelerate
T11–T13 35.75–81 Large training batches become resource intensive
T14 122 Gold appears in the public training-cost table
T15 163 Higher resource and Gold requirement
T16 230 Late-game troop tier
T17 310 Current high-tier public reference data

The detailed resource mix differs by troop type, so use the interactive calculator rather than applying one tier cost to all four types.

Worked Evony troop cost example

Suppose you plan to train 100,000 T14 Ranged troops. Using the current public reference row, one T14 Ranged troop requires 4,500 Food, 13,500 Wood, 4,500 Stone and 200 Gold, with about 122 troop power. Multiplying by 100,000 gives approximately 450 million Food, 1.35 billion Wood, 450 million Stone, 20 million Gold and 12.2 million troop power.

The example is useful for understanding the arithmetic, but you should still compare the calculator with the values shown by your current game client before spending resources.

How this calculator differs from other Evony troop tools

Some ranking pages focus only on the Evony troop cost calculator intent. Others provide a march-layering tool but do not connect the generated composition back to resource cost and power. A few training calculators avoid hard-coded costs entirely and ask you to enter the current in-game values. This page combines the most useful parts: a current T1–T17 reference table, cost and power totals, a transparent layering planner and a separate training-time calculator, while clearly labeling the parts that depend on community reference data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to use the Evony troop calculator?

Use cost and power mode before a troop-building batch, layering mode when setting up a march preset, and training mode when you want to estimate how much real time a queue will require.

Does the Evony troop cost calculator include T17?

Yes. This version includes current public T17 resource and power references. Older tools may stop at T15 or T16 because those pages were created before later tiers were added.

Is the troop calculator Evony result guaranteed to match my game?

No. Public troop databases can lag behind a game update, and account-specific systems can affect what you see. Treat the table as a planning reference and verify the current in-game training screen for major builds.

Does the Evony troop layering calculator predict whether I will win?

No. It calculates troop distribution, resource cost and troop power for a composition. Battle outcomes also depend on generals, buffs and debuffs, refines, enemy composition, research, sub-cities, dragons and other game mechanics.

How does the Evony troop training calculator handle speed bonuses?

If you enter a true base time, it divides by one plus the speed bonus expressed as a decimal. If you enter an already-adjusted time from the game, choose that mode and no additional speed bonus is applied.

Why do layering guides recommend different troop counts?

Layering is strategy rather than a fixed game formula. Public guides commonly agree that multiple troop types and tiers can matter in PvP, but the size of lower layers and distribution across upper tiers varies by account and purpose. The calculator therefore exposes the layer size as an input instead of declaring one “best” number.

Methodology and sources

The resource reference table is based primarily on the current Evony Tools troop-stat library, cross-checked against long-running community references such as One Chilled Gamer. The official Evony site and EvonyOps establish the current game and troop-training context, while current Evony layering tools and guides are used only to describe common planning approaches, not to claim an official battle formula. All cost and power calculations are direct multiplication. Layering is capacity arithmetic. Training time uses the user-entered per-troop time and optional speed adjustment. Because Evony is a live-service game, verify material values against your current client whenever a discrepancy appears.
