USAF PT Calculator
Estimate a current 2026 USAF PT/PFRA score with official age/sex scoring tables, standard events, WHtR, component minimums and alternate-event point mode.
Estimate a current 2026 U.S. Air Force Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment score using standard push-ups, sit-ups, the 2-mile run and waist-to-height ratio, or combine official alternate-event component points.
Estimated 2026 USAF PFRA score
This calculator estimates a current U.S. Air Force Physical Fitness Readiness Assessment (PFRA) score from the official 2026 age-and-sex scoring tables. It supports the standard raw-event path directly and an alternate-event point mode for hand-release push-ups, cross-leg reverse crunches, forearm plank and the 20-meter HAMR.
How the 2026 USAF PT Test Is Scored
The current PFRA uses a 100-point composite across four components: 50 points for cardiorespiratory fitness, 20 for waist-to-height ratio, 15 for muscular strength and 15 for core endurance. A composite of 75 or higher is Satisfactory only when required component minimums are also met. A score of 90 or higher is Excellent.
| Component | Maximum | Available modalities |
|---|---|---|
| Cardio | 50 | 2-mile run or 20-meter HAMR |
| Body composition | 20 | Waist-to-height ratio |
| Strength | 15 | 1-minute push-ups or 2-minute hand-release push-ups |
| Core | 15 | 1-minute sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunches or forearm plank |
Current 2026 Testing Timeline
The Air Force changed the transition timeline after its initial 2025 announcement. AFPC’s January 6, 2026 update shortened the diagnostic period to March 1 through June 30, 2026. Official scored testing under the revised standards resumed July 1, 2026. The February 26 directive and March 24 DAFMAN also set the current PFRA framework and testing cadence.
RegAF Airmen generally complete the PFRA twice per calendar year under the current program, while Air Reserve Component members generally test annually, subject to current policy and exemptions.
Using the Standard Raw-Result Mode
Enter age, sex, standard push-ups, sit-ups, 2-mile time, waist and height. The calculator assigns points by direct lookup against the official table rows. It does not interpolate between published thresholds.
The age bands are Under 25, 25–29, 30–34, 35–39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59 and 60+. Waist-to-height ratio uses the current universal body-composition point scale.
Using Alternate Events
The updated program permits alternate modalities. Current options include hand-release push-ups for strength; cross-leg reverse crunches or forearm plank for core; and the 20-meter HAMR for cardio. Instead of guessing alternate raw-score tables, the alternate mode asks you to enter the official component points from the current AFPC chart and then combines them with the WHtR result.
USAF PT Chart and Score Categories
The official chart is a discrete lookup table, not a continuous formula. For standard events this calculator carries the current table thresholds internally. Performance only a few seconds or one repetition apart can fall into different rows.
| Composite | Category | Typical next PFRA |
|---|---|---|
| 90.0+ | Excellent (Ready) | 6 months; ARC generally 12 months |
| 75.0–89.9 | Satisfactory (Ready) | 6 months; ARC generally 12 months |
| Below 75.0 | Unsatisfactory (Not Ready) | Current DAFMAN calls for reassessment on the applicable timeline |
Waist-to-Height Ratio Points
WHtR equals waist divided by height using the same units. The current chart awards 20 points at 0.49 or below, then 19 at 0.50, 18 at 0.51, 17 at 0.52, 16 at 0.53, 15 at 0.54, 12.5 at 0.55, 10 at 0.56, 7.5 at 0.57, 5 at 0.58, 2.5 at 0.59 and 0 at 0.60 or higher.
Frequently Asked Questions
What score do you need to pass the USAF PT test?
The composite passing line is 75 points, but required component minimums also apply. A 75+ arithmetic total does not override a failed required component.
Is the USAF PT test official again in 2026?
Yes. After diagnostic testing from March through June 2026, official scored testing under the revised standards resumed July 1, 2026.
Does this include the USAF fitness chart?
The standard-event mode uses the current official threshold tables internally and the page summarizes the current point structure. For alternate raw events, use the official AFPC chart to obtain component points and enter them in alternate-event mode.
Can I use HAMR instead of the 2-mile run?
Current 2026 guidance permits the 20-meter HAMR as a cardio option. The calculator’s alternate-event mode can combine the official HAMR component points with your other components.
Is this an official Air Force calculator?
No. It is an independent reference tool. The unit-administered PFRA and official Air Force records control.
Methodology and Official Sources
The standard-event engine performs direct threshold lookups against the current 2026 USAF scoring structure. The release was rechecked against the AFPC scoring charts current as of March 17, 2026, the March 24, 2026 DAFMAN 36-2905, the February 26 directive memorandum and AFPC’s January 6 implementation update.
